The Saint Clare Circle: Community Outreach is a volunteer initiative of Holy Rosary Parish.
They strive to create a place of welcome that embraces the homeless, the vulnerable and those marginalized by their economic conditions. Inspired by Saint Clare of Assisi, who chose a life of poverty, simplicity and prayer, they host weekly drop-in programs that are designed to enhance the lives of our neighbours in need.
In a safe and caring environment, they focus on providing hospitality and celebration through a range of activities that include: information sessions on nutrition, health and well-being; guidance in navigating available social services in our area; other social, educational and spiritual ministry; as well as art, music, poetry and other creative forms of expression.
They are guided by the following principles: Friendship and Respect, Fostering Self-reliance, and Social Justice.
They seek to better understand the experience of people “living in the peripheries of our society.” (Pope Francis)
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a lay organization of the Catholic church, worldwide. Its main focus is to help those in need, especially visiting them in their homes, bringing gifts, comfort and compassion, as needed. Their ministry also includes visits to prisons, hospitals and homes for the aged. Their main source of funding comes from the Poor boxes at the entrances to the church, and organized fundraising activities. As well as from individual private donations. In addition, they do enroll youth for summer camps.

PROJECT HOPE was initiated by the Archdiocese of Toronto at the height of the Syrian Crisis.
All Catholic churches were asked to fundraise and support refugees from the Middle East.
In the meantime the project was extended to any country where violence and torture caused people to flee their homeland.
At present Holy Rosary Church is working closely with the Office for Refugees of the Archdiocese again.
A new volunteer committee is preparing to resettle one single person and one family of three who are in a refugee camp in Africa at present.

The Ministry with Seniors aims to create a respectful and joyful faith community for mature adults through involvement in social gatherings, lectures and special events.
The programs are designed to meet the challenges of aging by making connections with others and by learning to face the future through continued education about health issues, about coping with loss, about growth in faith and hope, about reasons for living, about becoming mentors of the next generation. If you would like to attend any of the meetings/events, please contact the Parish Office.
"We firmly believe that the future of humanity rests with those who are strong enough to give coming generations reason for living and hoping" (Gaudium et Spes #31).
Lay Pastoral Ministers make regularly scheduled visits to assigned shut-in parishioners of Holy Rosary Church in order to share the Eucharist with them.
The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, commonly known as D&P, was formed in 1967 by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in response to Pope Paul VI's Encyclical Letter Populorum Progressio which says that Development is the new word for Peace. Our mission is to support partners in the Global South who promote alternatives to unfair social, political and economic structures, and to educate the Canadian population about the causes of poverty and mobilize Canadians towards actions for change.

Imagine Christians from over 170 countries coming together in spirit, uniting to pray for relevant issues affecting women and children. This is a reality: the movement has been active for nearly 100 years. Each year, a different participating country writes the service. The World Day of Prayer is traditionally celebrated on the first Friday of March, though communities can choose other dates.
The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement which brings Christians of many traditions together to observe a common day of prayer each year. Through preparation and participation in the worship service, we can learn how our sisters of other countries, languages and cultures understand the Biblical passages in their context. We can hear their concerns and needs and can join in solidarity with them as we pray with and for them. In this way, it is possible to enrich our Christian faith as it grows deeper and broader in an international, ecumenical expression.
The motto of the World Day of Prayer movement is Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action. Through our participation in the World Day of Prayer, we affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence on the world.
ShareLife is the charitable fundraising arm of the Archdiocese of Toronto. Money raised from the annual appeal goes to support ShareLife's 34 agencies, helping more than 100,000 people each year.

Dear Parishioners of Holy Rosary Church,
In order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and so as to comply with the Government of Ontario’s new regulations requiring that all non-essential workplaces be closed, we are sorry to inform you that the church and the parish office must remain closed until further notice.
This is a deeply painful, but necessary, decision for our faith community.
However, we are still here for you during this difficult time. If you need to contact us during this time, you can leave a voicemail with Angeli at 416 879 2105. Or you can email her at angeli@hrp.longbeardco.com. We will return your message as soon as possible.
For the most up to date information regarding the Archdiocese of Toronto's response to this situation, please visit www.archtoronto.org/covid19 and for links to view the Daily Mass online.
Please continue to pray for those who are sick and for those caring for them.
Be assured of our daily prayers for you.
